When I started to work for public safety in 1993 at UNC Chapel Hill, I was put with Mr. Milton for training. He reminded me so much of my father as he was kind and so good hearted. It was such a pleasure to work with him every day that I was put with him.I looked forward to working with him each day to learn how to be a good customer service representative for the department and the university.
As time went on over ten years or so we became very good friends. He always wanted to know about my family and what they were doing. My son was fortunate to get a summer job while he was on break from college and it was with the department I was with and Mr. Milton did most of his training while he was there for a few months. This made me proud to have such a good man with him and he told me that he really enjoyed being with Mr. Milton. He would ask me every time that I would visit him over the past few years since I retired how my son Robert was doing.I told Rhonda recently I was going to tell him about my son getting a new job down at Los Alamos, New Mexico which he would have been interested in knowing when he got better but things happened to prevent that.I will miss my visits with him and will never forget the love he had for his family and how he cherished his friends.
