Obituary of Betty Jean Pruitt

ROXBORO - Mrs. Betty Jean Jordan Pruitt, 68, of 901 Ridge Road, Roxboro, formerly of Buffalo Junction, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 following an extended illness. Mrs. Pruitt was born on February 26, 1944 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Lamberth Branch and Grace Eva Long Jordan and wife of the late David Lee Pruitt. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle Church. Surviving is her sons: David Randall Pruitt(Irene) of Anchorage, AK, Lee Garrett Pruitt (Kristy) of Halifax, VA, and Russell Jones Pruitt (Cheryl) of Red Lodge, MT; sisters: Frances Glasscock of Skipwith, VA, Alice Richardson of Elizabethtown, NC, Dorothy Porterfield (Ray), Peggy Carroll, and Ann Carver (Johnnie), all of Roxboro, Brenda Howerton (Mark) of Clarksville, VA; brothers: Sonny Jordan (Sandy) and William Jordan, both of Roxboro, NC, Bobby Jordan (Gloria) of Virgilina, VA; grandchildren: Stephanie P. Moore (Justin)of Lincoln, NE, Lance Pruitt of Cheyenne, WY, Kyle Pruitt and wife, Randy of Eastbend, NC, Kyrstin Pruitt of Red Lodge, MT, Wesley Pruitt of Halifax, VA, Joshua Howerton and Ashley Pruitt, both of Roxboro, NC, great grandchild: Anya Pruitt of Eastbend, NC In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Linwood M. Pruitt; one grandson: Bobby Lee Pruitt and one sister: Patsy J. Tillman Funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle Church by Pastor Russell Pruitt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 PM, Friday, June 15th at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle Church and other times at the home of Ann and Johnnie Carver, 609 Tonker Drive, Roxboro, NC.
