Obituary of James Riddle Sr.

James (J.W.) Riddle Sr. of Mebane sadly left us on February 28, 2024 following a long illness. He is preceded in death by brothers William (WF) Riddle, Edward (Badeye) Jones, Hugh Jones, Albert Riddle, Cliff Riddle, Sister Elizabeth Riddle, Mable Scott, and Virginia Price. He is survived by wife Shirley Riddle of Mebane, daughter Sandra (E.D.) Smith of Hillsborough, son James (Barbara) Riddle Jr of Graham, and son Phillip Riddle of Mebane. He has 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Two sisters Shelby Bowers and Brenda (Dan) Sigman both of Hillsborough.

J.W. went to Hillsborough High. He met the love of his life at the Old Show House in Downtown Hillsborough. J.W. was a PM Inspector at the Burlington Industries before going on to be a mechanic. He had retired over 15 years ago. J.W. has been at home with his wife and enjoying his many grandchildren. J.W. was all about family.

J.W. is preceded in death by his parents Fletcher and Maude Riddle, daughter Patricia Riddle and grandson D. Smith.

We will always carry his memory in our hearts.

The family will receive visitors on March 2nd at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough between 5-7pm. The funeral will be March 4th at 11am.
