Obituary of Dwight Allen Terrell

HILLSBOROUGH - Dwight Allen Terrell, 68 years old of Hillsborough, NC, departed this life on June 20, 2012. He struggled valiantly with heart disease. He fought the good fight, for as long as was possible, giving it his all. Now he rests in peace. Dwight was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Henry Terrell, mother, Etta Lee Terrell and sister, Phyllis Murray Terrell . . all reunited for eternity. Dwight married Elaine Garrett 48 years ago, became father to six wonderful children: Nancy Terrell-Brown, Duane Terrell, Jennifer Terrell, Jerome Terrell, and Kyle and Ryan Terrell. He also became grandfather to seven wonderful grandchildren and one lovely great granddaughter. He is also survived by his two sisters: Henrietta T. Qualls and Nancy T. Parrish both of Durham and his brother, Donald Terrell of California. He was born in Durham, NC, educated in Durham public schools and graduated from the Commercial Arts program at ACC. He became an accomplished, self-employed commercial artist and home builder operating under the names of Artline and Hammercraft, Inc. He was a dedicated father, husband, and friend to many . A man of great humor and a pleasure to be around. He will be sorely missed. Memorial services in celebration of his life will be held at Union Grove United Methodist Church at 2 PM on Sunday, June 24th. Family visitation will be at Union Grove UMC in Davies fellowship hall at 1 PM one hour prior to services.
