Carol Pittard Siller, 81, of Cedar Grove, NC, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2024, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Wally” Francis Siller Jr., MD, and her parents, Howard and Louise Pittard, Carol leaves behind her faithful black lab, Fletcher; her brother, Tony Pittard, and his wife Kim; her niece Amy Pittard Porter and husband Tony Porter; niece Traci Pittard; grandnieces, Eva and Sadye Porter; grandnephews, Cooper Porter and Dakota McPherson. 

Carol's roots were in Cedar Grove, NC, where she earned a Master's in Education from the University of North Carolina. After serving in the Peace Corps in Turkey, she spent most of her adult life, serving as a high school Guidance Counselor on Long Island.  

Known for her extraordinary generosity, compassion, and kindness. Carol was happiest when preparing Sunday family dinners, hosting parties, crafting the traditional "Pittard fruit cake" during the holidays, boating with Wally, watching her grandnieces/nephews compete in athletics, and enjoying the companionship of Fletcher, her beloved black lab. Carol was an avid sports fan and unwavering UNC Tarheel supporter. Her impact on numerous lives will be remembered and she will be profoundly missed.
