Going into his Antique store was always a high lite on my trips to Carrboro. I always enjoyed going in there. He was a interesting man. I send my condolences.

Richard was not only one of our favorite customers, but a treasured friend at the auction house. My husband and I run the concession stand and always looked forward to spending time and stories with Richard. He loved his hot dogs and sweets. He was funny and cracked us up when we brought a birthday cake for free slices for our daughter's birthday. Richard got his free slice, then came back several times announcing that someone else didn't want one, so could he have theirs. He ate 4 to 5 slices and smiled broadly with each one. Prayers to all his family for peace during your time of loss. We will miss Richard more than anyone will ever know. Rest in Peace, and we love you, Chapel Hill! ❤️

Richard and I went to school together and were friends from my earliest memories. . He truly was a gentle giant. . As you know my brother Claudie and myself have always valued our deep friendship with not only Richard, but the entire Watts family. I offer you my most sincere condolences as you morn Richard's passing. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. . God bless and comfort you. . Dave Williams
