Obituary of Clyde Richard Burriss

Clyde R Burriss, age 84, currently of Mebane, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023.

Clyde was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Thomas Riley Burriss and Ruby K. Burriss.  After graduation from Greenville Senior High School in 1957 he volunteered for service in the United States Coast Guard.  Among the awards and metals he received was the National Defense Service Metal.  Retiring after 20 years of service, he returned to live in Greenville, S.C. where he attended and worked at Greenville Tech.  He enjoyed boating, camping and other outdoor activities.  Subsequently he moved to Clearwater, Florida where he coached softball for youth, and actively participated in music and Latin dance. For the last 10 years he resided in the Chapel Hill/Mebane area.  

The loss of Clyde will be deeply felt by family and friends.  A Celebration of Life will be held to remember him at a date to be arranged.
