Obituary of Beverly Price Huntington

Beverly Price Huntington, 67, of Durham, N.C., formally of Burlington and Chapel Hill, N.C., passed away on August 7, 2023, in Raleigh, N.C. after a brief battle with cancer.

Beverly was born on February 24, 1956 in Mooresville, N.C. to her parents, Robert Donald Price and Orene Highsmith Price. 

Beverly graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in 1974 and received an Associate Degree from Alamance Community College in 1976.  She retired from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked in the Departments of Biostatistics and Laboratory Animal Medicine.  Beverly enjoyed her career and she considered the people that she worked with at UNC-CH her friends.

Beverly had a special love for animals and had many pets throughout her life.  She enjoyed her mother’s and grandmother’s recipes and shared her delicious pound cake during special occasions.  Beverly was blessed with a lot of friends throughout her life and cherished each one of these relationships. 

Survivors include her daughter, Layne Nicole Huntington and her husband Daniel Weaver, her grandsons, Cameron Huntington Weaver and Bryson Price Weaver, her father, Robert Donald Price and stepmother, Barbara Sutton Price, her sister, Patty Price Welborn and her husband, Howard, stepsister, Jenifer Lynn Sutton and her partner, Allyson, stepbrother, Randall Scott Sutton and her niece, Shelley Welborn Morris, husband Jared Dean Morris and her sons Andrew Dean Morris and William Price Morris.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Orene Highsmith Price.

A graveside service will be held at the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Chapel Hill, N.C., on August 19, 2023 at 2:00.
