Obituary of Jean Eno

Jean C. Eno passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Burlington, North Carolina.  She was born on November 11, 1940 in New York to Claire and Edward Skellington.  She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved son, Christopher Eno (Heather). Jean married Frederic Eno ll on July 5, 1970. She is survived by her loving husband, Frederic; daughters, Donna Turner and Dana Eno-Price (Daryl); and son, John Pearson; 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

 

At one time, Jean was the youngest Church organist on Long Island beginning at the age of 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church where 2 years later she became the Choir Director. She continued to play in various churches and performing in recitals throughout her teenage years and as an adult. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Education teaching in the East Islip School District for 30 years and was recognized by the State of New York for her commitment to teaching.

 

Jean loved all animals and became a wildlife rehabilitator for many years continuing into retirement. She was recognized as Woman of the Year in Environment by the Town of Islip for her work.

 

Jean was honored with an American Flag for her support of our Troops making quilts/blankets for those overseas. In 2010 she was awarded from the Retired Teachers Association for her continued commitment to these soldiers.

 

Jean loved her family and her pets, she loved history, travel & quilting. She believed in community service and her Lutheran Faith. She was blessed with family members and friends who steadfastly supported her throughout her illness. Her family would like to thank Dr. Hope Uronis and Margot O’Neill PA from the Duke Cancer Center for their unwavering care. Though she will be missed, may Jean now rest in peace with our Lord. 

 

Jean will be buried in the Skellington family plot in Camden, New York per her wishes.
