She took care of my parents at Carol Woods and was with us in their last days. I was so sad to hear this news. I will forever be grateful for her loving caregiving. I hope she is welcomed by a host of grateful loving souls she shepherded on this side of life. My condolences for the sadness that comes with missing. Here’s to a life well-lived and may her family feel embraced by the love that never dies.

I'm saddened to read about Ms. Katherine...I worked with her at a local psych hospital in Raleigh...She was more than my charge nurse she was my friend...I'll forever cherish our friendship...Rest Easy Ms. Katherine Until We Meet Again

Alex and Neal, I worked with your mom from the time you both were in Elementary school ( she would bring you both in when she got called into work in the middle of the night)to your UNC Charlotte years. You were both the center of your mom’s universe. Alex, I remember when you started playing football in school. Your mom told me how she studied football to learn what the plays were. Neal, I remember how you preferred the arts over football and she was equally delighted. Kathy was a dancing light and I am so thankful to have known her.

Although I am not able to join you today at the funeral home, please know I am there in spirit and share great joy with you. Kathy was a delight to know over the years, her work ethics was astonishing, her passion for her family relentless, her ability to make life thrive and the hardest struggles in life easy to concur. We can learn a lot from her compassion for life. Rest in peace dear friend. You are missed.

Dear Alex, Neal, Aaron, Sina and family, The strength and loving kindness of your mother and grandmother lives large in your hearts. I adored her…and you too. She was at every Global Connections event helping to bring love and learning to our school community- and you all were there too working into the late hours helping clean up. I adored her…and I know you will carry her light . You already do. Hugs and condolences to such precious children of an amazing woman and her families. Love to all. Robin McMahon

Kathy and I worked together for years in Radiology. She was always a champion for radiology nursing and a caring and devoted nurse to her patients and her team mates. I was lucky to know her. Rest easy dear friend!

The Headen-Burnette family send our sincere condolences to Kathy’s family. When our boys Alex and my son Roscoe played football together at CHHS I had the pleasure of volunteering with Kathy to make sure our boys were fed before and after their games. She was such a joy to be around, my heart is very heavy right now for her loss. RIP sweet friend.❤️
