Dear Amanda and John, I sadly just learned of your Dad's passing. My condolences and prayers. He was a special friend . He worked out of my DEA office in Greensboro and was a valuable asset. We made plenty of fun trips to Chapel Hill to see the Tar Heels play football. I will certainly miss his email correspondence.

Harold was a good friend and trusted law Enforcement Officer . I had several opportunities to work jointly with Harold while I was Stationed in Randolph County as State Trooper D-630 , one in particular he got WRAL to use there helicopter to fly over and film a 50 acre tract of land growing huge Marijuana plants which led to an arrest of six people and confiscation of the property , several homes and half a dozen vehicles . He was as good as he needed to be and funny in only a way Harold could be . He was among the best there has ever been . Prayers for the Family and friends of this fine man .

Harold Pendergrass was a devoted and professional Law Enforcement Officer. But most of all he was a great friend to many. He enjoyed life and his family and friends. We spend many great days together at work as SBI Agents and Carteret County Deputies. We attended ball games, and days at the beach with family in Emerald Isle. No matter where or who we were with, you could always expect laughter. In 2018, my home suffered severe damage from Hurricane Florence, which took nearly a year to repair. With no place to go, With no hesitation, Harold opened his home up to me and Pat for nearly 3 months. I'm honored and proud to call him my friend. I shall miss him dearly. Harold provided professional and personal guidance to become a great leader and inspire aspirations. He provided his mentorship to me for over eight years. Harold always referenced his grandkids and the importance his work impacted the community to make it a safer place for them. His attention getter "Now Listen here Giuliani, you can't get this advice anywhere else", always made me laugh. Harold made the office an enjoyable place, a great balance of fun and expert work with attention to fine details. He inspired me to join the Army. I will always be grateful and keep his advice in mind when making important decisions. You are a great friend, mentor and family man! I will miss you greatly.

It was with great sorrow I learned of Harolds passing. We worked together when I was a deputy and later when I became Sheriff. His friendship was one of the joys of my life as was working with him side by side. He was a great friend and law enforcement officer. He will be missed. My prayers for God's grace for the family.
