Dear Gary, John, Diane, Carol, and David, please accept our condolences on the passing of your mom. Our family were neighbors of her brother Allan, your aunt Catherine and your cousins David & Janet in Moser River and remained lifelong friends. We remember your parents very well from their visits when they travelled to Nova Scotia and we were regaled with A.J.’s recounting of his many visits to North Carolina. Although it has been many years since I last saw your mom the impression she left was strong. I know she will be missed. My family moved to Dogwood Acres in Chapel Hill in 1955. I was five years old and Mary became like a second mom to me and my younger brothers. The Herion family were family to us. Throughout the years, whenever I would see Mary, she would always express deep interest in my life, my family, my world. Even in the past few months when we lost my younger brother, Mary reached out to express her love and sympathy. Rest In Peace dearest Mary and may your beautiful family continue to feel your love and care throughout the rest of their lives.

Dear Gary, John, Diane, Carol, and David, We are all feeling the sadness of your wonderful mother's passing. She was--without a doubt--one of my favorite humans on the planet! She always made sure to make contact, ask questions, give support, and offer every other gesture to show love and kindness. She is a role model for me.
