Obituary of Maureen Ann Clear

Maureen Ann Clear, 64, of Hillsborough, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at her residence with her loving dog, Riley at her side. Maureen was born in Mentor, Ohio on March 29, 1958. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Doris Clear. She is preceded in death by her sisters Monica Kiser and Betsi Skolaris and survived by her brother Michael Clear (Cathy) of Lexington Park, Maryland; sisters: Joyce Horvath of Glorietta, New Mexico, Michelle Gibbons and Mary Brown (Rocky) of Bennettsville, South Carolina, and Marcia Harris (Mark) of Iron Station, North Carolina. She was a loving aunt to Stephanie, Matthew, and Johnathan Clear, Charles Gibbons, Megan Brown, Gabe Harris and Patrick Whitson.
Maureen was a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She spent her life caring for children as a professional nanny and friend. She was employed at Duke University Medical Center on the Covid and Urgent Care call lines.
Maureen was a faithful and beloved member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served (the church) in many different ways, but was currently serving as the Primary President (Children’s ministry) for the Hillsborough Ward. Those who served with Maureen witnessed her willingness to put others’ needs before her own. She served fiercely and sincerely, while maintains great humility. It was her love for the Savior that motivated all that she did, and our lives are better for knowing her. There were many who were touched by her quiet and kind service, and she will be dearly missed.
Her memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 150 Ashbury Blvd. in Mebane, North Carolina on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:30 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the animal shelter of your choice.
