Obituary of Carol Riley Moore

Carol Riley Moore, 74, of Mebane, left her earthly body on Saturday, November 5, 2022 and gained all the glories of Heaven that she so richly deserved. She was born on October 4, 1948 in Durham, North Carolina to the late Olden Harden Riley and Aline Harward Riley, both deceased. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Ed Moore Sr. of the home.
Carol was a faithful member of Hillsborough Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired waitress of The Village Diner where she worked for 25 years following her many years of working for Cone Mills.
Carol loved her family, she loved traveling to White Lake, North Carolina and the mountains. She loved watching game shows on TV, and playing games with her family. Carol opened her heart and her home to everyone that needed it.
Other than her husband of the home, Carol is survived by, her children; Lynn Stone and husband Jerry of Youngsville, North Carolina, Liz Parker and husband Robert of Hillsborough, North Carolina, her son, Ed Moore Jr. of the home, one bonus daughter Erica Bowden of Burlington, North Carolina and three grandchildren, Grayson Parker and Cayson and Lincoln Bowden. Also surviving Carol, is her sister Ann Scarlett and her husband Roger of Hillsborough, North Carolina and a brother Van Riley and his wife Donna of Rougemont, North Carolina, and several other nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Funderburk and Larry Riley and one sister Nanzetta Chambers.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane with the family receiving friends from 11:30am – 1:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Mebane Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Alamance County or the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Carol.
