So sorry to find out John had died. I only found out when I hadn’t heard from him in awhile and looked up obituaries. I was disappointed not to have been contacted as I would have made the trip from Nashville to attend his service. John was a wonderful friend and a wonderful doctor. I met John in 1980 and have fond memories of him. I am so sad to know he is gone. Chris if you see this please contact me. Thank you. Holly

I met John when he first came to Greenville and began practicing as a neurosurgeon at Pitt Memorial Hospital where I worked in the 1970s. He was a brilliant physician, and we struck up an instant friendship. He showed and taught me quite a few interesting facts about the field of neurosurgery which I will always remember, and I enjoyed spending time with him away from the hospital as well. His knowledge and expertise will certainly be missed. My sincere condolences to all of his family, friends, and colleagues.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Leonard when I was in Physiology. I just learned today of his passing and heartbroken I didn’t know before. He had a quick wit about him and the most entertaining stories. May he rest in peace.
