Obituary of Bruce Bagwell
Please share a memory of Bruce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bruce Bagwell passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at his home. Although Bruce had ongoing post-Covid effects after a year and a half, his sudden death was both heartbreaking and unexpected.
Bruce is the son of the late T.C. and Dorothy Bagwell. Garner was Bruce’s home through his school years-- and after graduation, he proudly joined the Navy. From his Navy service as an Aviation Maintenance Technician, Bruce was dubbed extremely disciplined, had solid values, and made lasting friendships.
Bruce married his wife, Lynette Barwick Bagwell and they settled in Pittsboro with their son Kenny thirty plus years ago. Bruce worked with Patterson Pope for most of those years and became the Company’s safety coordinator when he was unable to perform as a service technician after covid. Bruce loved his work, he took it seriously and he again, fostered many friendships. Of all of this, Bruce was a godly man. He loved the Lord; he studied the Bible every day, taught the adult Sunday school class, and was a deacon at his beloved Bethel Baptist Church.
Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Allen and his parents, T.C. and Dorothy Bagwell.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette, his daughter-in-law, Ericka Allen and his pride and joy--two grandchildren, Dominik Allen and Sofia Cancel. He is survived by his siblings, Anne (Paul) Gourley and Steve Bagwell of Louisburg, his brothers-in-law Robert Barwick of Pennsylvania and Gary Gates of Sneads Ferry; his sisters-in-law Patricia (Bryant) Farrell and Jean Hynes of Durham and Donna Calicutt of Carthage and a host of nieces and nephews. He is survived by his furkid, Averee Foster Bagwell whom he adored.
Memorials can be made to Bethel Baptist Church in his honor.
