Obituary of Alexander Reid Callaham-Bishop

Alexander Reid Callaham-Bishop, age 28, passed away on August 30, 2022, in his hometown of Chapel Hill.

Alex and his twin brother Sergei moved to the US at six years old from Kazakhstan. Alex never lost his love of his Russian heritage. While still in high school, he explored Russian language and culture at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Alex loved soccer and enjoyed playing pick-up games at the UNC campus. He attended Appalachian State University for Business. Alex was proud of his career at UPS.

Alex is preceded in death by his sister Jessica Bishop and grandparents John and Barbara Callaham and Joseph and Dorothy Bishop. He is survived by his parents, Sheila Callaham and Thomas Bishop, siblings Sergei Callaham-Bishop and spouse Sumer, Ryan Callaham-Bishop, JJ Bishop and spouse Bridget, Nate Gay and spouse Danielle, Katy Pacheco and spouse Jaime, as well as nieces Olivia Pacheco and Charlotte Bishop, and many loving aunts and uncles. 

Alex will be remembered for his love of family, hiking, soccer, dogs, and Food Lion cupcakes.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, at Walker Funeral Home in Chapel Hill located at 120 W. Franklin Street,  Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27516.
