Growing up he always let me take a million pictures :) and I had the best time visiting many times in NC, especially when we went to the outer banks he always taught me so many things. My uncle knew he was my favorite guy!

Gene being Gene. It was always a fight to get him to let me trim his beard, so he often ended up looking like he should be a front man for Z Z Top. He loved all the wildlife in our yard, even the snakes that came after the eggs in the chicken coop!

Esther and family, So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I will always have fond memories of good times working with Gene. I see you and he have several grandchildren. Thanks LeiLani. I know I butchered his work history, but it was the best I could manage in the moment. Gene loved retirement. He loved our place in the mountains and we were to drive up there for the month of August the day he died. He went peacefully in his sleep with no pain. Truly a blessing.
