The Gulati family sends our sincere condolences. We became good friends on Pleasant Valley Road in King of Prussia, PA in the 70's and have remained friends all these years staying in touch and occasionally visiting each other. Jake was in nursery school with our son, and we shared many memories of the boys growing together. In fact. when the Carrs needed to move a few years later, Jake wanted to stay behind with us. The last time we visited in North Carolina we met Jake's daughters and were impressed with what a good father he was and how happy he seemed. We must comment how much the picture shown in the obituary looks like Fred, something we didn't notice in person. We wish you well as you work through your grief and pray that you come to terms with this terrible loss.

I am so very sorry to receive this sad news. I knew the Carrs when they lived in Schenectady NY. Jake and Joshua. Played with my Son. I babysat Jake many times. Over the years I have thought of them often. And was always so happy to know the life Jake had. My sincere sorrow is with you.

Back in the late 90’s Jacob and Cory came to DC to see a Grateful Dead concert. I was terribly broke, living in an Art Deco apartment on Connecticut Ave., studying Descartes and smoking cigarettes. Cory was pregnant with Delilah and the two love birds slept on a wooden floor under a down comforter. For one weekend I was the hipster I always wanted to be! Thank you dear Jacob for your open heart and undeniable love of life. My eye are filled with tears and my heart is broken. I am so sorry I’ve lost my first cousin, my friend, my brother. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I recently sent Jacob a birthday wish and became concerned when I didn’t hear back. He and I communicated regularly because I had the fortune of teaching Jake when he was little at Glenwood and later his daughter Delilah at Scroggs elementary. Jacob, I am at a loss for the right words to express how sad I am that we did not get to meet in person. I enjoyed getting to know you through messenger and I thoroughly enjoyed our spirited political banter.
