Obituary of Ted Haywood Martin

Ted Haywood Martin passed away at Duke Regional Hospital Tuesday April 19, 2022 at the age of 87. Ted was born in Orange County August 29, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough.

Ted was a graduate of Hillsborough High School and member of the Army Reserve.  A dairy farmer for 50 years, he held many positions with the America Dairy Assn. and retired in 1998.  Still active in the community and lifetime member of Pleasant Green UMC.

He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Yarboro Martin, parents Jesse Haywood Martin and May Holloway Martin, sister Patricia Martin Reeves, half brothers Aubrey M. Martin, Vance B. Martin and half sister Edrie Martin Page.

He is survived by his daughter Cindy Martin (Tony) step daughter Ann Morton Owen (Bobby) of Roxboro, step son Irvin George Morton of Benicia CA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Pleasant Green UMC, 3005 Pleasant Green Road, Durham NC.  The Family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service.

Officiating will be Rev. Laura Thompson committal and burial will be at the Church Cemetery following the service.

Donations may be given to Pleasant Green United Methodist Church.
