Joanna Albright Parker of Hillsborough, North Carolina passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022, while at The Hospice Home in Burlington. She was born in Hillsborough, N.C., on March 4, 1934.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Frances Albright and siblings Marion (Pete), Jeff and Kae and her in-laws, Fred and Pauline Parker.
Joanna is survived by her husband, William Edward Parker; two sons, Stan (Karen) of Winston-Salem, N.C., and David (Barbara) of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren, James, Andrew (Marissa), Zach (Allie) and Caitlin (Pete), and one great-grandson, Callan.
She was a member of Eno United Methodist Church and a retiree of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. She loved her family, traveling with David and Betsy Parker, visiting with friends for breakfast at Bojangles, music and fellowship at the Schley Grange Hall on Thursday evenings, and watching her Tar Heels play football and basketball.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, N.C. The family will receive guests from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walker’s. The service will be followed by a private burial at Walnut Grove Methodist Church.
