Obituary of Cameron Smith

Cameron “Cam” Jordan Smith, age 30, of Hillsborough went to be with the lord on December 11, 2021.

Cam was born on April 15, 1991 in Durham, North Carolina. Cam is the son of Herbert and Debbie Smith of Hillsborough. Cam graduated from Orange High School and later attended Alamance Community College. 

Cam loved to cook! Starting at very young age you could find him in the kitchen helping his Mom and MeMaw.  His love for cooking continued as an adult as a chef for several restaurants in the area. He was computer savvy and loved playing video games. He enjoyed taking things apart, just to see if he could put them back together. He loved animals, fishing, riding four wheelers and various genres of music. Cam never met a stranger and he was loved by all who knew him.

Cam is survived by his parents, Debbie and Herbert Smith; his brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Stephanie Smith; his two beloved nieces, Corbin and Callie Smith; his grandparents, Mike and Sheri Johnson and many aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his “MeMaw” and “Papa” Maryann and Louis Szadek; his Grandma Hazel Smith; and his uncles Billy Smith, Billy Keaton and Joe Kasprowicz.

A visitation service will be held at Walkers Funeral Home, in Hillsborough on Friday December 17, 2021, from 5-7pm. A graveside service will held at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Hurdle Mills on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 2pm. The family will receive visitors following the service on Saturday at the home of Debbie and Herbert.
