Obituary of Danieth Faye Powers

EFLAND, NC - Mrs. Danieth "Dana" Faye Powers, 64, of Efland, died peacefully Monday, October 1, 2012 at Hospice at the Meadowlands in Hillsborough. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren after a courageous battle with cancer/ Dana was born on July 29, 1948 in Montgomery, WV, daughter of the late Carl W. Nichols, Sr. And Ethel R. Kennedy Nichols. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a retired ALPN. Dana met and later married the love of her life Jerry Randall Powers while working at Montgomery General Hospital. Jerry and Dana were married for 38 years before his unexpected death in January of this year She is survived by her daughters: Mary Lane and husband, Rick of Hillsborough, NC, Kim Bennett of Efland, NC, Jerri Faye Neighbours and husband, Kenny of Efland, NC, and Ethel Tunnell of Chapel Hill, NC and son-in-law Staff Sgt. Ian Tunnell, USMC of Hubert, NC; grandchildren: Christina Lane Dalton, Justin Bennett, Brittany Bennett, Joshua Lane, Kaitlyn Neighbours, Taylor Lane, Kaylee Holland, Adam Neighbours, Lillian Tunnell, Nicholas Lane, Riley Tunnell, and Jackson Tunnell; great-grandson: Jaiden Bennett; brother: Carl W. Nichols, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Duck, WV; mother-in-law, Patty Powers of London, WV and beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday , October 5, 2012 at Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev.
