I was lucky to say hello to Khalid in the hallway frequently this fall while visiting with my father Hugh (Mike) Friel at The Arbor. I was told by the caregivers on the floor they were friends and were favorites of the nurses. My dad passed the day after Dr. Ishaq - I’m glad they knew the other was close by in their final days. My best wishes to his family members. Reading through his memories here I can tell he was much loved. Susan Friel Grammer

My condolences to you and your family for losing your father. I did hear that my uncle had friends at the Arbor that he enjoyed having lunch with. Thank you to your father for giving my uncle enjoyment, friendship and happiness during his short stay at the Arbor. May your father's soul rest in peace! Dena (Niece)

We at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy were saddened to hear of Dr. Ishaq's passing. He will always be remembered by us as a wonderful researcher and teacher, who leaves a legacy of students mentored. We pray for peace and comfort for his family during this difficult time. Thank you for your condolences! My uncle considered UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy his home. He was passionate about teaching and researching. It was rewarding and made him happy. We were all lucky to have had him in our lives. Dena (niece) and family
