Obituary of Trevor Patrick Dolan

Trevor Patrick Dolan, age 21, passed away in Chapel Hill, NC, his home for fifteen of his twenty one years, on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Trevor was born on April 25, 1991 in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, CA to Jill P. Dolan and Timothy C. Dolan. Trevor was in his senior year at UNC Chapel Hill where he was majoring in Psychology and History. Trevor was our beautiful, chatty son whose light shone on everyone he met. Trevor could talk to anyone whose path he crossed - and very often did. Besides engaging in conversations and debating, the one thing Trevor loved to do above all else was to cook. Trevor was the consummate chef, priding himself in his culinary expertise and in-depth knowledge of regional and international specialties, and you would very often find Trevor poring over one of his growing collection of food and cooking books. Trevor always planned and cooked the entire Dolan Family Thanksgiving dinner. Trevor was also our curious traveler, and had already made trips to France and Germany. He loved to talk about current events and the world and where he wanted to travel to next. Trevor's favorite poem was "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. It is a poem that embodies the very heart and soul of his loving, gentle, curious spirit. Trevor is survived by his parents, Timothy C. Dolan and Jill P. Dolan and by his younger brother, Jonathan, 17, a senior at Carrboro High School. Trevor was the shining light in Jonathan's life and Jonathan looked up to his older brother with mutual admiration and respect. Trevor is also survived by his half-brother, Jesse R. Doshay of Denver, CO. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church, 800 Market Street, Southern Village, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. A reception will be held in Ascension Hall within Christ United Methodist Church following the memorial service.
