HILLSBOROUGH - Pauline Gregory Mangum, 95, of Hillsborough passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at Brookshire Nursing Center.
Pauline was born November 5, 1916 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late Jackson and Lelia Lockamy Gregory and widow of the late Jimmy A. Mangum. She moved to Hillsborough at the age of 15 and attended Orange County Schools. She married Jim in 1932 and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. After working for Eno Mills, she later worked with her husband at Mangum Cleaners until 1976.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Margaret Stevenson and Lottie Hales; 3 brothers: Clyde Gregory, Artis Gregory and Jack Gregory.
Pauline is survived by her sons: Bob K. Mangum and wife, Lillie of Hillsborough, and Rodney A. Mangum and wife, Faye of Hillsborough; her brother: Carl Gregory of Hillsborough; granddaughters: Karen M. Mansfield of Chapel Hill, Christy M. Fox and husband, Mike of Graham, Britt M. York and husband, Randall of Mebane, and Debra M. Coggin and husband, Jimmy of Efland; great grandchildren: Scott Isley, Eric Isley, Olivia Fox, Mason Fox, Elani Mansfield, and Addie Mansfield.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Brookshire Nursing Center for all the loving and excellent care and assistance shown to our mother and our family during her long term care.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm on Wednesday, October 10th prior to the funeral service being held at 2 PM, at Fairview Baptist Church by the Pastor Hoyt Shuford. Interment will follow in the Hillsborough Town Cemetery.
