To Family and Friends,
It may have been 60 years ago when I last saw Kenneth. Helping my dad, Red Massey, in delivering kerosene to farmers for tobacco curing, I remember seeing Kenneth engaged in putting small tobacco plants into spaces along the rows which the planting machine may have missed. Dad took a real interest in his customers and introduced me to the young farmhand. Having to keep up with the tractor pulling the planter, there was no time for pleasantries, but we briefly said hello and moved on.
Kenneth’s good natured smile is what really stayed with me. Even not having seen him for so long, I am very touched to see that smile again and to read the obituary and tributes describing this good man.
My sincere condolences to all who knew him and especially to his brothers and sisters, many of whom I can still picture.

Slick was such a special lifetime friend. No matter how many years were between each time we saw each other, it was as if we had seen each other a week ago. He called my mom his mama...and all my siblings considered him another kid on the family. He was quick witted, thoughtful & kind to EVERYONE. He will be missed by so many people because he touched so many lives in a loving way. My thoughts and prayers are with his children, grandchildren & his siblings as we mourn his loss together.

Slick was a great person and will be missed dearly. I’ve heard many stories through the years whether it had been sitting at BK’s or the farm. He always knew how to cheer you up and make you laugh.

I knew Ken for many years with several stops at the Farm for Strawberries and their delicious vegetables and fruits. His white Toyota was always the first one there. One weekend morning, I was at the Efland Supermarket and didn’t have cash on me to buy a newspaper. Kenneth immediately paid for my paper. I told him I’d pay him back the next time I saw him (at the Farm, of course). Vicky at the Supermarket said, “that’s Slick, he comes in here every morning”. That’s when I learned his Real Name and always called him Slick after that. There aren’t enough words to express what a Great Guy he is and How Much he Loved and Bragged about his Beautiful Family! Rest In Peace Slick ~ we will always love you!

When I was in the first or second grade, Slick came to live with us. Already 5 McAdams kids and my parents took on another. He lived with us for three years. He was like an older brother to me then, and for the last 50 years has been a part of the McAdams family. He was the unofficial Mayor of the McAdams strawberry shed! He has been the best friend to my oldest brother Ronnie McAdams for more than 50 years. He has worked at the farm for Howard and Karen McAdams helping with strawberries about 20 years. He loved to help people and had a gift for making people laugh. He was full of love and joy. He was so proud of me as my work as a pastor and supported me all these years. My heart is so sad for this huge loss. I am praying for his kids and grand kids and all his friends and family. To his kids, he kept your picture on his hip pocket and was always ready to talk about you. He was so proud of you. He brought us so much joy, he is going to be greatly missed. May the love of God that filled up Slick, fill you up with comfort today and in the days to come. The youngest of the McAdams kids.

I rode the bus with Kenneth going to school. He was a character at times but always a good fella. I know he will be missed by all who came to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May your memories give you comfort in the days ahead. My deepest sympathy to all.

Slick had the best sense of humor, and was one of the most fun people to be around I've ever known. Always a kid at heart. The picture is from our wedding, which was a while ago, and it has been a favorite in our wedding album over the years. After the wedding reception, as the crowd was giving us a big send-off from the church, Kent Murray caught Slick in the act - trickling rice down the back of Rhonda's dress! I always thought that picture captured the essence of Slick Daniels to a tee - always having fun and keeping it light. Slick was a big clown for sure, and we all loved about him, but his heart was even bigger. He genuinely cared about people, and he would do anything for you. We will miss him terribly. - Kenny & Rhonda Snyder

Slick was one of the best friends that I ever had. We played, hunted, fished, enjoyed meals and just always enjoyed each others company. If anyone needed any help, you could always count on slick. Friends like Slick are irreplaceable. My heart is saddened to have lost such a great buddy. To Amber and Matthew; know that you had one of the greatest dads ever. To Jayla: You were the joy of his life. He was so proud of you. We will all miss him and the joy he brought to the people of the Efland community. Always his pal and friend: Bobby Heffner
