I am very sorry to learn of Costas' passing last June. We were friends many years ago and he always remained in touch with a holiday card or an update on scientific innovations. He was a lovely man and is surely missed by his wonderful family. I had the privilege of spending time with them for several celebrations that were always festive and joyous. Blessings to his sister Helen, his partner, and others closest to him.

I met Costas in 2015 on an flight on my way home from Vienna after visiting my parents in Hungary. We had such a wonderful conversation about life and world views. It made the plane trip much more bearable for me. We exchanged email addresses when we landed and sent the occasional emails back and forth for holidays and such. I always hoped to drive down to NC and have the love of my life, Bill, meet Costas because I thought the two would connect. I'm so sorry to find his obituary. His last email to me in 2019 ended with this "Life in many ways is about creating memories for us to remember people and for them to remember us. Whatever else there may be, would be a bonus." I wish I could have known him better. Kathy Szabo (NY)

What a shock to hear that Costas has died. I went to graduate school with him at Syracuse University and stayed connected through the years. I was fortunate and honored in knowing and working with him.
Costas was always a wonderful, caring friend. He often talked of his family, and I even got a chance to meet his sister and her family when we traveled to a meeting in NYC together. I remember many, many times with him, and how he loved to entertain and treat us to Greek specialties and wines that were always out of this world delights. Late lab nights working often ended up with a beer at Hungry Charlies.
Everyone who knew Costas loved him. He was just such a kind, funny and thoughtful person. Costas was an outstanding collaborator on research projects. He always brought intelligence, thoroughness, hard work, and attention to detail that really define a very talented and well-trained scientist. And, Costas always made everything fun.
I am so sorry. He will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathy to all of his family.

In memory of my dearest friend whom we lost so quickly and undeservingly.
Close friends for over 45 years since our university days in Syracuse, the attached photo being a stark reminder of our carefree days in the 70’s. Unforgettable times together!
A kind, unselfish, loving man, a true friend, Costas shall always remain close in my heart. May you rest in peace my friend!

Costas was just the most kind hearted, unselfish and noble person that I was lucky enough to call a friend. I will forever cherish the precious days we spent in Springfield and Newport when Costss came to spend time with us before our daughters operation and helped us take our minds off the difficult days ahead. This was the essential Costas. Always selflessly giving to others without a hint of sacrifice.
All of us, who were touched by your kindness, will miss you dearly. Rest in piece my dear friend.
