Brent was truly a kind and giving man. I enjoyed working with him. When things were difficult in my life he always showed me kindness and God's grace. I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was truly a light in this world.

I am saddened to hear of Brent's much too early passing. From my earliest memories of Brent he showed so much empathy and love for others. Brent recruited me to attend MDA camp one summer during high school. The experience was one I will always remember. I remember a boat of a car Brent purchased, I believe it was an Impala convertible . It was so huge it had two area codes. Brent in that car with others from school is a fond memory of mine and brings a smile to me each time I think of him. I know many people who have been blessed to have known Brent will morn his passing. I want to wish his family my condolences and reiterate that Brent was such a wonderful person and will be missed. I know my life was improved because of Brents friendship during that summer with MDA.and I will miss him.

Brent was a beautiful, kind and generous person who has been my life long friend since I met him as a 13 year old young boy. Brent came to my Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. Office wanting to help Help children who suffered from this disease by becoming an attendant at the MDA summer camp. Mature and wise beyond his years, Brent served others with his unique spirit of love and kindness for his fellow humans for more than 10 years. His unique qualities served him throughout his entire life and I am proud to say that he was my friend and confidant until the day God called him home. Brent will always live in my heart and I am so lucky to have known him and loved him…..he definitely enhanced my life forever. Paula Harris

Brent gave me the confidence to lead, first at CHBC, then at Trinity School. His steady, kind leadership taught me so much and I am so grateful and blessed by knowing and working alongside him.

My first memories of Brent were from junior high school when he enthusiastically recruited me and several friends to volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We spent many summers together working at Muscular Dystrophy camp and other volunteer activities. Those memories are priceless to me and shaped my life quite a bit. Brent was the smartest person I knew, but also so generous and caring and funny. I know how much he loved his family. My heartfelt condolences to Cindy and his children.

Brent was a true southern gentleman. I'll never forget our days at The First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu and our fun evenings at the Renaissance young adult Bible study group at Glenn and Pauline Rediger's apartment. Thanks for coming to the mini-reunion I organized at Ala Moana Park many years later. Rest in peace and God bless you all!

I first met Brent while I was working at the UNC General Alumni Association. He had been hired as our Finance Director and was my immediate supervisor. He had a gentle way about him and we both enjoyed working together. Brent was serious when needed but had a playful side to him which he showed us at our annual Holiday Parties during our Tar Heel Swaps.
After Brent left us we were still able to keep in touch as he sat on the board of The Carolina Club. We would run into each other in a lobby or hallway and spend some time catching up. We are all concerned and worried when he had the brain tumor but he came through and seemed to be his old self after recovery. I last saw him in 2019 and he was as vibrant as ever.
The news that he was in the hospital and then passing came as a shock. I considered Brent a true long term friend. And despite seeing each other often, whenever we did it was like no time had passed. I will miss my friend. I recently retired and was looking forward to his being at my party. But his spirit will be there celebrating with me I know. Rest In Peace my friend.
