Obituary of Junior Barlow, Jr.

R. B. (Junior) Barlow, Jr. passed peacefully on June 8, 2021.  Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC on April 23, 1935, he lived most of his life in Hillsborough, NC, graduating from Hillsborough High School in 1953.  After graduation, Junior served in the US Army for three years and was a proud veteran.  He worked at Western Electric as an Electronics Technician for 40 years.  He was a devoted husband to his wife, Patricia, for 60 years.

   Junior was predeceased by his parents, R. B. Barlow, Sr. and Ruth Barlow, and by his wife, Patricia Ann Riley Barlow.  He is survived by his three children, Beverly Barlow of Durham, NC, Gary and wife Cindy Barlow of Fernandina Beach, FL, and David and wife Rhonda Barlow of Hillsborough.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren, LT. Commander Allison Mabrey (Commander Michael) of Huntingtown, MD, Caroline Barlow of Portland, OR, Jessica McKinnon (Sergeant Cooper) of Savannah, GA, and Caleb Barlow of Hillsborough.  Junior was also blessed and survived by five great grandaughters:  Emma, Lily, Amelia, Elizabeth, and Violet Mabrey.  Junior loved his family and provided for them as a devoted father.

   Junior was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years, as well as serving on the Finance Committee, Pastor Search Committees, and as usher, Junior's final arrangements are being handled by Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.  His service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, at Walker's Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsborough, NC.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UNC Hospice.
