Obituary of Peter Christian Marbais

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Peter Christian Marbais was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 1, 1973 to parents James and Margaret Marbais. He attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University and Kent State University.  He taught English at Hutchinson Community College and Mt. Olive University before transitioning to editing, and then ultimately working as a writer at PPD.  He had a passion for writing and loved the colleagues he’s had over the years.  Outside of work Pete enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible, especially taking long walks.  He also loved cars old and new, a good meal, horror movies, and a good cigar.  The friendships he made everywhere he lived were lifelong and deeply important to him and who he was.

He leaves behind many beloved family and friends.  He is survived by wife Kristen and sons Andrew and Owen.  He is also survived by his parents James and Margaret Marbais of Mebane, parents-in-law David and Marilyn Liner of Efland, Aunt Jane and Uncle Bob Spratley of Westerville, Ohio, Aunt Sheila Rose of Lisbon, Ohio, Uncle Rich and Aunt Joan Marbais of Gahanna, Ohio; cousins Wendy(Sean) Brinker of Westerville, Ohio, Bob(Barb) Spratley of Hope, Indiana, Shannon(Todd) Ernsberger of Powell, Ohio, Scott(Terry) Rose of Lisbon, Ohio, Greg Marbais of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jason Marbais of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law Lisa(Scott) Kimble of Sanford, Bruce(Beth) Liner of Raleigh, and Dave(Elizabeth) Liner of Milwaukie, Oregon; nieces and nephews Jacob, Ainsley, Greyson, Malia, Katie, and Paige.  Pete is preceded in death by grandparents Oscar and Julia Marbais and Harry and Martha Rose as well as his uncles Harry “Butch” Rose and Fred Rose.

A visitation will be on Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday morning at All Saints Antiochian Orthodox Church located at 520 Buck Jones Road in Raleigh.  Burial will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday afternoon at Efland Presbyterian Church Cemetery located at 3700 US-70 in Efland.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, All Saints Orthodox Church, Efland Presbyterian Church, or another charity of your choice.  Also, in honor of Pete take the time to enjoy the outdoors, your friends and family, a really good meal, and maybe a cigar too.

Condolences for the family may be left online at www.walkersfuneralservice.com.   Walker’s Funeral Service has been entrusted with assisting the family.
