Obituary of David Sheets

David Mark Sheets, 67, of Hillsborough, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born September 16, 1953, son of the late Joyce Odham Sheets and Lon Marshall Sheets of Durham, NC.

David was born in Washington, DC, spent his childhood in Redlands, California, moving to Durham NC in the late 1960's. He graduated from Northern High School in 1971 and served in the NC Army National Guard for 13 years. David retired from the City of Durham in 1995 and spent his retirement enjoying fishing off the NC coast and woodworking.

David is survived by his loving wife Barbara Cleary Sheets of Hillsborough, daughter Krystal Sheets Peters of Durham, grandson Jalen David Peters of Durham, and brother Walter Richard Sheets of Durham. He is also survived by nieces Whitney Sheets Olson of Wilmington NC and Jennifer Sheets of Loveland, Ohio.
