Obituary of Carol Ann Tickle

Mrs. Carol Ann Vance Tickle passed from this life to be wit;h Jesus Tuesday morning, November 17, 2020.  She was born April 21, 1938, in Jewel Ridge, Virginia, the youngest daughter of the late Paul Henry and Nora Vance.  Carol was a loving mother of five children and wife to Donald Tickle for 64 years.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, more than anything, and participated in every part of their lives.  Her favorite hobbies were bowling, cooking, baking and playing cards.  Carol never met a stranger and left an impression on everyone she met.  She would welcome anyone into her home and treat them like family.

  Carol was preceded in death by her brothers Tommy Vance and Harold  Vance; and her son Michael Tickle.  Carol is susrvived by one sister, Peggy Vance Ratliff; her husband, Donald Tickle; two sons, Rusty Tickle and Stephen Tickle; two daughters, Tina Tickle Hocutt (husband Mark Hocutt) and Sheri Taylor; Eleven grandchildren, Kimberly Tickle, Mikael Moore, Dustin Moore, Tyler Hocutt, Hallee Hocutt, Brianna Wiener, Nicole Walker, Kyleigh Vestal, Carter Vestal, Ayden Taylor and Lisa Tickle; and six great grandchildren, Kaiden Boyd, Nora Wiener, Ivy Wiener, Samuel Wiener, Wynter Moore and Ronin Moore.  She also leaves many other family members; and friends who will sadly miss her.

   Family night and visitation is from 5 PM to 7PM Friday, November 20, 2020, at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.  Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Markham Memorial Gardens in Chapel Hill.  Condolences may be sent to the family at Walker's Funeral Home.
