Obituary of Vernon Earl Ray

Mr. Vernon Earl Ray, age 72, passed away at the VA Medical Center in Durham on Monday, July 20, 2020.  Vernon was born on July 4, 1948 to the late Henry Calvin and Mary Elliott Ray.  Mr. Ray was a native of Orange County and worked for some time making auto parts for many different brands of automobiles.  He later proudly served his county in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his son, Bradford Calvin Ray and his wife Julie; his daughter, Nichole Jarvis  and her husband Aaron; his sister, Jean Gainey and several loving grandchildren.  Sadly Vernon's other daughter Heather Marie Ray passed away the day after Vernon died.

The family is planning to have a graveside service at 11:00am  on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Union Grove UMC.

Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough is assisting the Ray family.
