Josephine Coleman Kalkowski, 56, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away Thursday, January 9th, 2020.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, niece, sister-in-law and friend to all. She was born in Norfolk, VA, November 27th, 1963 to Kathleen Williamson and Edward Coleman. In 1986 she moved to Chapel Hill where she worked at UNC Hospitals as an electroencephalogram (EEG) technologist. There she met her loving husband Kyle and their story began. Josephine was married to Kyle Kalkowski on August 12th, 1989. She worked at UNC Hospitals until she took time to raise her beautiful daughters Sarah Kathryn and Katelyn Elizabeth.
Josey loved her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved nature, art, laughing and had a personality that filled up a room. No matter how difficult the situation there was always a smile on her face and a joke in her pocket. Josey was a true selfless warrior who never stopped thinking of others.
She leaves her memory to her husband of 30 years Kyle Kalkowski, her daughters Sarah and Katelyn, mother Kathleen Williamson and husband Robert and father Edward Coleman and wife Terry, aunt Suzanne Peterson and husband Curtis, sister Cynthia Stockdon and children Grace and Joseph, sister Carrie Hurt and husband Jim and children Taylor, Jacob and Megan.
A memorial mass and a reception following will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21st, at St. Thomas More Church, 940 Carmichael St. Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
