Rose, Deb & Tom, We are so sorry for your loss. Please accept our heartfelt condolences & know that you all have been constantly in our thoughts & prayers. I always had such great admiration of Uncle Harry & can remember many conversations with residents of Franklin who held him in the highest regard. Mr. Corbin was the principal the first two years I was at BHS. I remember his dignity and compassionate manner. This carried over to his years as superintendent. A life well-lived and a blessing to education.

May the "Peace that Passeth Understanding" keep Mr. Corbin's family during this difficult time. He taught Algebra I to my 9th Grade Class in 1949-50. We had hoped that he would be able to attend our Class of 1953 Reunion this year. His picture is on our invitation letter. He was such a great influence on us.

As a former student in the Transylvania County Schools, I would like to share that Mr. Corbin was a gentle giant and one of the nicest men that one could meet. He genuinely cared about people and he served the citizens of Transylvania County well. I am very sad to hear of his passing but I know that he is in God's care now and he has been welcomed by the angels! “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21

We are eternally grateful to Mr. Corbin. He made it possible for us to begin our teaching careers in Transylvania County. He was wise and thoughtful in his conversations. He will always be remembered for his love for children and the care for the people who worked under his direction.
