Obituary of Andrew Wallace Davis

Chapel Hill, NC – Mr. Andrew Wallace Davis, 92, husband of the late Hattie Harward Davis, died June 20, 2019 at Carillon Assisted Living of Hillsborough.

Mr. Davis was born and raised in Orange County.  He was educated in the Orange County schools before proudly serving his country with the US Army during WWII.  He was employed with Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, retiring after 30+ years of dedicated service.  Mr. Davis loved farming and gardening, and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and serving as a Deacon. 

Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Walter Randall Davis, and his wife, Amy, of Raleigh; and his grandson, Randall Stewart Davis.

A memorial service with Military Honors was held at Bethel Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 9, at 2:00pm.  Following the service, Mr. Davis was interred next to his late wife in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bethel Baptist Church, 9326 Bethel Hickory Grove Church Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.  The Davis family would like to thank the staff at Carillon Assisted Living as well as UNC Hospice for their kind, compassionate care of Andrew.
