Nola says good bye to other classmate and childhood friend.
Terry and I want to send our condolences to Bobby's children. We grew up together and spent many great times in each others homes while you lived in Maine. roger would call my mom his mom as we had him living with us for several weeks when he was very young. Mom even helped at that time with his "potty training" Sorry just had to mention it as he would stamp his feet and tell her to change his pants.

It was 1980. I was looking for farm land and saw a field that hadn't been plowed yet that year.
I drove into the farm and asked the little man working on the tractor if he would tell me who owned this farm so I could offer to buy some land. He popped up and replied, in his best Maine accent, "Well, that would be me, and no, I don't want to sell any land." I had just met Bob Nutter!
But, he did tell me of a place in the community that was for sale. From then on Bob and Chris helped and educated me on what it means to run a farm and be good neighbors.

Visit Bob? Be careful or he would put you to work. This is his idea of retirement.

Bob was helping children learn about farming even back in the 1950’s. I remember, at about 7 years old, standing by him in his barn in Corinna, Maine on a school field trip, as he talked about dairy farming and showed us the biggest bull I ever saw. In his long life Bob had positive and important influences is many areas. His legacy in Corinna will always stand in that community as I am sure it also will in North Carolina.

A beautiful, generous man. A natural born educator and explainer of all that a farm does for a community. Listening to the music of that thick Maine accent was always the sound of home to me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was saddened to learn that Bob passed away and will always remember the numerous times I interacted with him over the past 30 years. I vividly recall as a county commissioner visiting the ice cream sales store when it was being built and listening to Bob’s concerns about the inspections process in place at that time in county government. I passed on some of Bob’s observations to the county manager John Link. Toured the Agriculture Center and saw the pride in his eyes as to what he was doing for children. Watched him pass out dictionaries to elementary school children and witnessed first hand his true love for little children. Bob was an outstanding human being and will be missed. My deepest sympathy.
