Obituary of Virginia Scott Cordero

Mrs. Virginia Scott Cordero, age 79 of Pittsboro, died on August 14, 2018 at the UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Virginia was born on January 4, 1939 in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia to the late Cleveland and Ann J. Scott. Virginia enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her family and showed her love by being a great chef, sewing clothes for them that she had designed and gardening, which showed off her green thumb. Among her many talents she shared with others, was making stained glass, jewelry, knitting hats, scarves and blankets for kids in need and other charities. Virginia had a giving heart and did a lot for other people. She worked for over 20 years at the UNC Hospitals Histology Dept.
Her fiesty spirit and zest for life will be forever missed by her husband of 62 years, Francisco Cordero-Riverra, two sons Franciso Cordero II and wife Missy Cordero and David Cordero and wife Tina Murray, grandchildren; Amanda Merry and husband Travis Bevill , Brittany Cordero and husband Kevin Meeks, Gaby Medrano, Amberly Medrano, Mylta Medrano, Jenna Cordero, Lee Cordero and Jonathan Cordero. She was great grandmother to Ayden Parker, Skyler Walker, Caylynn Bevill and Drevis (D.J.) Torain Jr. There are also surviving two sisters and a brother. Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter Mylta "Di" Cordero in May of 2018.
There will be no formal services held.
Walker’s Funeral Home and Crematory of Mebane is in charge of the arrangements.
