Obituary of Ernest Coleman Richmond

Ernest Richmond, 96, died peacefully at Hospice Home in Burlington after many wonderful years of a happy and healthy life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Warren Richmond, and his son, Warren Coleman Richmond. He is survived by his daughter Catherine and husband Ed, as well as his grandson Sam and wife Dannell and their boys, Leighton and Ryder.
Ernest was a man of longevity and constancy, who lived in Mebane, NC, his entire life and in the same home for 65 years. He worked at White Furniture Company at the same job for 42 years, married to the same woman, Ruth, for 66 years (a widower since 2009) and faithfully served the same church, Mebane Presbyterian, 84 years.
There will be a graveside service of witness to the resurrection for family at OakWood Cemetery in Mebane at 4:00 on Saturday, August 18. There will be a celebration in story and song of Ernest’s life in McSween Hall at Mebane Presbyterian Church at 5:00 for those who knew and loved him. Guests are asked to bring a story about Ernest to share with others.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance County at 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
