Obituary of Lucy Fasolino

Please share a memory of Lucy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lucy Fasolino, 93, formerly of Mamaroneck, NY, passed away on January 29, 2018.

Mrs, Fasolino was born May 16, 1924 in Brooklyn to the late Antonio and Palmina Galgano, the youngest of three girls. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Annie and Francesca. Lucy married Anthony Fasolino on June 27, 1946; they were married for 58 years. She is survived by her three children: Catherine Bonchick and her husband Norman, Peter and his wife Grace, and Christopher and his wife Stephanie; by 6 grandchildren; and by 10 great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. Lucy's love for her family extended to nieces, nephews, and many beloved cousins.

Throughout her life, she was appreciated by her family and friends, who knew her by many affectionate nicknames. For most of her life Lucy lived in Mamaroneck. She and husband Tony moved to Florida in 1990. After Tony passed in 2004 she moved back to Mamaroneck and renewed many old friendships at St. Vito's Church and with the Rye Neck Gold Card Club. She later returned to Florida and finally landed in North Carolina, near her son Peter, three of her grandchildren, and five of her great-grandchildren.

Lucy was a true lady and lived her life with a gracious spirit of warmth and kindness. That simple kindness and her loving personality brightened the lives of those around her throughout her life and made her a favorite at the nursing facility she called home for the last year. One of her caretakers said of her: "She was sweeter than a whole pound cake.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brookdale Meadowmont Employee Holiday Fund, at Brookdale Meadowmont, 100 Lanark Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517
