I only had the opportunity to know her briefly near the end of her life, but that is often when people's truest personality comes out. She was clearly a remarkable person, demonstrating true grace in the face of adversity, and was and remains an inspiration.

When we think of gifts we think of a package wrapped in beautiful paper and a lovely bow. We get caught up in thinking only about the tangibles of what we see. What we fail to see is the gifts that are not packaged with a pretty bow, but gifts that we give each other everyday. Sometimes a friend can show you a great deal about the gifts of love, friendship, and life. Not just the words but the deep, sincere, heartfelt actions that speak louder than words. I will hold forever in my heart what you taught me about love, friendship, and life. I will miss you my dear friend.

We can look forward to the day when there will be no more sickness and death. Revelation 21:4 says: "And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". God cares for the brokenhearted; Psalm 34:18 assures us that he is close to them. Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; Psalm 147:3)

I was so sorry the hear this news. I was so humbled by the grace with which she fought this disease while still living the life that she chose to live. I learned a lot from Carolyn and her family and my heart goes out to you in this time of loss.
