Obituary of Thomas Ray Cooper

Mr. Thomas Ray Cooper, age 68 of Efland NC died on Thursday June 7, 2018 at Duke Hospital in Durham.  Tom was born in West Virginia on November 14, 1949 to the late Robert E and Leona M. Cooper.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Bob Cooper.  He was on the custodial staff at Guy B. Phillips Middle School in Chapel Hill.  Tom was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and the United States Army.  During his service in the Marines, he was an electrician and a sharpshooter and following his honorable  discharge from service he worked for Don Lacefield Chevrolet in Hillsborough and the West Staff agency.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Diane Cooper, daughter Lauren Cooper of Efland;two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Victoria Cooper and Annalie Elizabeth Terrell; one sister, Doris Walker and husband Gary of Martinsville VA.

A service of remembrance of Tom's life was held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane located at 304 West Center Street, Mebane  with Celebrant Sara Williams officiating.
