Please share a memory of Mylta (Di) to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mylta “Di” R. Cordero, age 59 of Mebane, died on May 22, 2018 in Greensboro NC.

Di was born on May 21, 1959 in New York and moved to North Carolina followed by Florida before coming back home again to North Carolina.  Di, as she was affectionally known, was the person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her family which included daughters, grandchildren, friends and being the neighborhood mom. Di always offered her home and showed hospitality at any time of the day for her family and friends.  Her daughters and friends enjoyed the many stories and great sense of humor she shared with them. Di had a particular love for all animals, junk food and ice cream and enjoyed being the person on the front porch waving to passerby’s and friends. Her career path led Di to wear many hats, among those being in administration as a grant writer for North Carolina Central University in Durham and UNC-Chapel Hill, a real estate agent and notary public.

Di was a proud breast cancer survivor.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her five daughters, Amanda Merry and husband Travis Bevill of Elon, Brittany Cordero and husband Kevin Meeks of Atlanta, GA, Nanci (Gaby) Medrano of Rougemont, NC, Amberly Medrano and Mylta Medrano both of Mebane. She was grandmother to Ayden Parker, Skyler Walker, Caylynn Bevill and Drevis (D.J.) Torain Jr. Di is also lovingly survived by her father and mother, Francisco Cordero Rivera Sr. and Virginia Lee Cordero of Chapel Hill and two brothers, Francisco Cordero II and David Cordero.

A celebration of her life was held on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Walker's Funeral Home, Mebane, officiated by Rev. Rick Eller.
