Obituary of Lillian Apple Wagner

Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Shambley Wagner died peacefully at Peak Resources in Graham, N.C., May 15, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Edna and Esker Apple.

 

She is survived by four daughters,  Patricia Shambley Clark (Devan “Sonny”), Valinda Shambley Kilbey (Ed), Rosemary Shambley Neighbours (Bill), and Martha Shambley, and one son, Albert Shambley (Coleen), seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husbands W. A. “Buck” Shambley and Leonard Wagner.

 

Lillian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsborough for many years before moving her membership to Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane.  She worked at Cameron Park School lunchroom and Faulk Fibers.  An avid gardener, she took great pride in her flower gardens, enjoyed bird watching, playing the piano, singing, and loved her pets.

 

The family would like to thank Cecil Eakes for providing music at the service and to all of those at Peak Resources who have cared for Lillian throughout the past seven years.

 

A funeral service was held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2018 in  the Chapel of Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, officiating was Pastor Chuck Perkins.  Burial followed in the Hillsborough Town Cemetery.  Grandsons served as pallbearers. 

 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 637, Mebane, NC 27302.
