Obituary of Christine Cleghorn Thomas

Christine Cleghorn Thomas, of 4820 Oak Grove Church Rd, Mebane passed away on October 15, 2014 at home. She was born December 16, 1942 in Norfolk, VA to the late Adelia and Edgar Cleghorn. Christine graduated from Oscar Smith High School Norfolk, VA and married Joe Thomas. They had their children and began raising their family in Norfolk, VA. In 1971, they moved to Mebane, NC. She was a member of the Mebane United Methodist Church. Christine was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Chris was very devoted to her family and friends. She was very passionate in her service for 43 years at her church, donating and giving her heart and soul through every piece of artwork she painted, crafted, sewed and gave away as gifts for all who had not, to have! Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Joe Thomas; daughters, Holly Suzanne Thomas of Mebane and Theresa Leanne Thomas Keys of FL; son, Ryan Patrick Thomas and his wife Julie of Graham; sister, Lorraine Plaskett and her husband John of VA; brother, Daniel Cleghorn of VA; 6 grandchildren, Adelia, Ellen, Hannah and Mary Thomas of Graham, Henry Keys of Fl, Cassie Marshall and her husband Turner of VA; 2 great grandchildren, Blaze and Tripp Marshall of VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Christine Thomas and granddaughter, Haley Marie Keys. A memorial service to honor Christine's life will be held at the Mebane United Methodist Church October 18, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Johnnie L. Wright II officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Christine's memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America or Hospice Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.
