Obituary of Jeanne Hough Parsons

Chapel Hill Jeanne Barron Hough Parsons was born July 27, 1928 to Walton Ford Barron and Mildred Koch Barron in Columbia Missouri. At age seven, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Kansas City schools, and later attended the University of Missouri where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and the Vice President of social functions. In 1950 she married Williamson Thomas (Bill) Hough, and they lived in Lawrence Kansas where their son, Williamson Thomas (Chip) Hough, Jr. was born, and later Christopher Barron Hough was born after they moved the family to Houston, Texas. In 1967 Bill and Jeanne and family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. Jeanne did volunteer work with the blind, the Good Shepherd church and school projects. She loved gardening and was active in her Country Club Estates Garden Club. Jeanne's main hobby was playing Bridge, and became a Life Master in the 1980's. Bill Hough passed away in 2002 after nearly 53 years of marriage. In September 2003 Jeanne and William (Bill) Bryan Parsons were married at the University Baptist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jeanne introduced Bill to Bridge and they played often. Jeanne leaves her beloved husband, Bill Parsons, her oldest son Chip Hough and wife Anita of San Antonio, Texas and her three children Sloan, Avry and Stephen. Jeanne is also survived by her younger son Chris Hough of Ashburn, Virginia, her three grandchildren Hunter, Heather, and Parker Hough. She also leaves her stepson Bryan Parsons and his wife Leslee and her children Erick, Elise, Evan Lindquist of Crozet, Virginia. She also leaves her sister Joyce Barron Motherway of Chesterfield, MO, her niece Susan Motherway Schultz and husband Dan, as well as Bill Parson's sisters Christine Holland and husband Doug, Ida Gaskill and husband Edfred, Joanne and husband George, brother James Parsons and wife Vicki, many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the University Baptist Church in Charlottesville Virginia with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers her family requests donations to Hospice at the University Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
