Obituary of Margaret Sumner Berry

Cedar Grove - Mrs. Margaret Sumner Berry, 94, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017. She was a native or Orange County and a graduate of Aycock High School. She married Ralph H. Berry. For 50 years she was an Avon representative. She was a good cook, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church where she was active where and when needed. Surviving are three daughters: Betty B. McCullock (Jerry), Kathryn Daniel (Zeb) and Nancy Berry, two grandchildren: Pam M. Rodgers (Chuck) and Michael C. McCullock (Karen), five great grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, and Noah McCullock, and Nick and Zach Rodgers. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, Sofronia Smith and Cornelious Sumner, and two brothers, Floyd Sumner and Braudie Sumner, and two half-brothers: Allen Sumner and Andrew Sumner. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hunter Preston. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.
