Obituary of Martha Solomons Paterson

Martha Solomons Paterson, 87, of Cedar Club Circle, Chapel Hill, died November 12, 2015 at UNC Hospitals. Born November 15, 1927 in Gaston County, NC she was the daughter of Wesley and Clara McMillan Solomons. Mrs. Paterson was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She has been an area resident since 1978, lastly having moved from Fearrington Village to The Cedars. Martha had a gift for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, her flair for fashion, decorative touch and her adventurous spirit. Her family includes her husband Robert C. Paterson; son, Richard Beutel of Alexandria, VA; daughters, Sophia Beutel Primps of Bronxville, NY, Anne Louise Pederson of Lee'Summit, MO, Arabella Beutel Myers of Nashville, TN; step-son, Alan Cornell Paterson of Cincinnati, OH; step-daughter, Katheryn Ann Carleial of Brazil; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, William Andrew, Charity, Philip, Kirsten Ann-Marie, Leanna and Sophie; ten great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Pedro, Katheryn Emelia, Erin and Lindsey; four step-great-grandchildren. The memorial service for Mrs. Paterson will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Church of the Holy Family, 200 Hayes Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517. Friends may visit with the family at a reception following the service in the clubhouse at The Cedars of Chapel Hill. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Church of the Holy Family.
