Vasa was always so nice to me in the many years he visited us in Davis Library Slavic cataloging section. I always liked to talk baseball with him. I also took his Serbo-Croatian language class. When other students didn't feel like studying in class, they knew they could start a conversation on UNC sports and Vasa would go off on a tangent and forget about conjugations and declensions. I miss Vasa since he left Chapel Hill. I wish I had known about the service. My condolences to you, Draggan and Zoki and to your families. Elena Elms

Zoki and Draggan-our thoughts and prayers are with you. I am watching the Carolina Maryland game and can't stop thinking about Vasa. Dragon I read your tribute to him and you hit the nail on the head. He was a man that had taken life's scenic route, yet both he and your mom still were the loved and respected parents in Briarcliff. He was truly a great man and I have many fond memories of him and your mom. I know both of you have made him proud-you have turned out to be great men and I know that is what he is most proud of. Remember the times you made him smile and the great times you shared as this is what he would have wanted. As the coming days will be difficult remember how proud he was of both of you. Remember how great of a man he was. Remember that you will see him soon. Until then he and Ron will just have to analyze how the Heels can get better! In our prayers.... Scott Lynch

We were so saddened by the death of your dear father. He was a good friend and we have many fond memories of your family. We moved to Chapel Hill in 1967 and your parents welcomed us into the community and our friendship continued throughout the years. Your father was a dear friend and brilliant scholar and we shared many wonderful times together with your parents. We share your grief and extend our sincere sympathy to all of you. Mr. Mihailovich was TRULY a second father to me. I am deeply saddened to read this news, and pray for Zoki, Draggan and their respective families. I cannot begin to list the stories from Emory Drive, and the memories that I still have from the times spent there. We all laughed with and at each other. Your father was an amazing man, a dedicated husband, and a model father. I loved him as if he were my own, and he always took extra time for me, much long an "apodted son". His work at UNC was without compare. He loved his family and his community. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. He touched many lives, mine for sure, and will be missed by all of us.
